Gig Guide - Edinburgh International Harp Festival 2018

The Edinburgh International Harp Festival kicks off tonight! Whilst it might be a bit late now to make it to the opening concert there is still plenty of time to browse though the catalog and get along to a few courses and workshops happening from Saturday through to Tuesday. So to give you some inspiration and get you harped up (yup, that just happened) here are a few gigs we definitely think you should get along to during the festival.

Saturday 31st MARCH - Rachel Newton Trio

Memorial Hall | 7.30pm - 10pm | £15/£13/£8

If you unaware of the endless amount of talent and awe that is on display at a Rachel Newton gig then where on Earth have you been? Quite literally unmissable. If multiple individual accolades such as 'Instrumentalist of the Year' at the Radio 2 Folk Awards and an Album of the Year Shortlist won't convince you i don't know what will.

Tuesday 3rd APRIL - Peach/Skeoch

Cafe | 3pm -4pm | £12

This a show you definitely wouldn't want to miss. Packed full with mischief, magic and medium weird sounds this duo will have mesmerised from the word go. Normally found boppin' along in other projects it's a rare treat to have these guys performing. So go along and get lost in their mischievous ways.

Wednesday 4th APRIL - Catriona McKay & Chris Stout

Memorial Hall | 7.30pm - 9pm | £12/£10/£6

Performing music from their new album Bare Knuckle this is another performance not to be missed. This dynamic duo will be closing the festival so make sure you get your harp fix before it is too late!
