Threw this together for a bit of a laugh. Positions are up for debate and the team name. FolkWilliam FC? Bodhran Rangers? FiddleMartine Utd? Whistle Academy FC? Clarsachnacuddin FC? Strathspey Thistle? Didn't even need to change that one!
GK - Findlay Napier - Unattached/Unknown
Napier's booming voice would be perfect for dominating his box and organising the defence in front of him. And how intimidating would that beard be in one-on-one situations? Very!
RB - Kevin Henderson - Celtic?
I think that Kevin could do a great job down the right supporting Graham in attack and putting in some crosses. He has surely mastered the art of using the wild blustery weather of Shetland when floating the ball into the box.
CB - Gary Innes - Fort William...Shinty/Unknown
I've gone for a Manran pairing in the centre of defence so I would hope for big things from these two. Gary has great experince of playing sport at high standard. Gary, now retired has represented Scotland at Shinty.
CB - Ewen Henderson - Aberdeen
I reckon Ewen would make a fine centre half. He definitely has the height to dominate in the air and he would obvioulsy have an established relationship and understanding with Gary.
LB - Ron Jappy - Aberdeen
Mr Jappy would make an excellent full back and would do a fine job supporting Mark down the Left and also tucking in behind to cover for Ewen or Gary.
RM - Graham Mackenzie - Caley
I've gone for youth on the right wing so I'm hoping that Graham can repay me by terrorising some defenders and supporting Jack in his forward role.
DM - Alan Henderson - Aberdeen
In my opinion Alan would make a fine defensive midfielder, who isn't afriad to throw in a crunching tackle when needs be and charge forward when he can.
DM - Alasdair Taylor - Caley
Alasdair like Alan I'm sure could muster up a meaty tackle to get the boys going. He would also have a lot to offer moving forward but would have to communicate well with Alan.
AM - Bruce MacGregor - County/Caley
I'm hoping that Bruce can produce some magic from his attacking midfield position. From a rugby background Bruce can use some of that determination and never say die attitude to grind out a result.
LM - Mark Bruce - Aberdeen
Mark would have a very important role down the left hand side in supporting Ron at the back and making runs into the channels for Bruce to find him.
ST - Jack Smedley - Aberdeen
I've gone for Jack upfront. Ive played at the pitches in Cullen. They're awful, so i think jack would be more than capable of terrorising defences and giving them the run-around.
Huge shoutout to the lads from The Elephant Sessions for making it obvious from their twitter bio who they supported! The rest of you took a wee bit more detective work.
The Full thing is available here. Unfortunately you have to copy and paste it into a new page! ugh technology!
